Brave Space Alliance hosts multiple, monthly community support groups to provide trans and LGBQ+ individuals on the South Side with a safe space to share their unique and shared experiences as BIPOC and queer individuals.

Community Support Groups are held in the space once per month and facilitated by Brave Space Alliance staff and experienced support group facilitators who represent the identities served by the groups they are facilitating.

We are looking for new support group facilitators!

If you are passionate about creating safe spaces for queer community members and you have experience with conversation facilitation, we invite you to attend our Group Facilitator Informational Session on Wednesday, February 11 at 6 pm in the space.

Email NikiyaP@bravespacealliance.org to RSVP by February 6 to save your spot!

Rooted and Radiant

Wellness and Healing for Black LGBTQ+ individuals

"Rooted & Radiant: A Wellness Circle for Black LGBTQ Healing” is an 8-week healing-centered group designed to affirm the mental health, identity, and resilience of Black LGBTQ+ individuals. These communities face intersecting barriers to care, including systemic racism, anti-LGBTQ+ stigma, medical mistrust, and a historic lack of access to culturally competent and gender-affirming mental health and wellness resources.

This group creates a safe and affirming space for participants to explore mental health through the lenses of race, gender identity, sexuality, and trauma. It centers the lived experiences of Black queer and trans people and promotes community healing.

The group meets on the second Thursday of every month from 5 pm - 6:30 pm.
